This 6-day Meghalaya tour is an immersive experience into the heart of its unique Khasi culture and unparalleled natural beauty. The itinerary is packed with adventure and sightseeing, including a trek to the world-famous living root bridges, an exploration of mystical caves, and visits to some of the most spectacular waterfalls in the country. This trip promises a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and cultural exploration.

Itinerary

Detailed Day-Wise Itinerary

Day 1: Guwahati to Shillong - The Scotland of the East

Arrive at Guwahati Airport/Station, meet our representative, and drive to Shillong. En route, stop at the majestic Umiam Lake, a sprawling man-made reservoir. Upon arrival in Shillong, check into your hotel. The evening is free for you to explore the charming city on your own.

Day 2: Shillong to Cherrapunji - The Land of Waterfalls

After breakfast, drive to Cherrapunji, the "wettest place on earth." On the way, visit the stunning Elephant Falls. In Cherrapunji, witness the breathtaking Seven Sisters Falls and the powerful Nohkalikai Falls. Later, explore the ancient Mawsmai Caves and Arwah Caves to see their impressive limestone formations. Check into your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Cherrapunji - The Living Root Bridge Trek

Today is the day for an unforgettable adventure. After breakfast, drive to Tyrna village, the starting point of the trek to the Nongriat Double Decker Living Root Bridge. The trek involves descending approximately 3,500 steps through lush forests and crossing suspension bridges. The sight of the two-tiered living bridge is a reward in itself. You can also hike further to the beautiful Rainbow Falls. Return to your hotel in Cherrapunji in the evening.

Day 4: Cherrapunji to Dawki via Mawlynnong

After breakfast, drive to the border town of Dawki. En route, visit Mawlynnong, renowned as "Asia's Cleanest Village." Take a walk through the pristine village and also visit the nearby Riwai village to see a Single Decker Living Root Bridge and the fascinating Balancing Rock. In Dawki, you will be mesmerized by the crystal-clear Umngot River. Check into your hotel/campsite for the night.

Day 5: Dawki to Shillong - Canyons and Blue Pools

Check out after breakfast and begin your drive back to Shillong. On the way, you will visit the spectacular Krang Shuri Waterfalls, known for their vibrant blue pool. You'll also stop at Laitlum Canyon, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding green hills and valleys. After a day of incredible sights, check into your hotel in Shillong.

Day 6: Shillong to Guwahati - Departure

After breakfast, drive back to Guwahati. If time permits, visit the revered Kamakhya Devi Temple. Afterwards, you will be dropped at the Guwahati Airport or Railway Station for your journey home.

If you Cancel your holiday, 

You or any member of your party may cancel their travel arrangements at any time. Written notification or an e-mail to that effect from the person who made the booking must be received at our office. 

If we change or cancel your holiday

We at Globus Travel Consulates plan the arrangements in advance. It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your travel arrangements. Occasionally, we may have to make changes, and we reserve the right to do so at any time. If there are any changes, we will advise you of them at the earliest possible date. We also reserve the right under any circumstances to cancel your travel arrangements by assigning reasons to you. If we are unable to provide the booked travel arrangements due to reasons beyond our control (e.g., bad weather), we shall first try to offer alternative dates for the tour if the tour hasn't already commenced. If the tour has already commenced, then we shall refund the booking price/fee charged to you on a pro rata basis depending on the portion of the tour utilized by you. In all circumstances, however, our liability shall be limited to refunding to you the price we charged as tour fees.

If you want to change your holiday plan 

After confirmation of services, if you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way (e.g., your chosen departure date or accommodation), we will do our utmost to make these changes, but it may not always be possible. Any request for changes must be in writing from the person who made the booking. All costs incurred due to the amendment will be borne by you.

If you have a complaint 

If you face any problem during your holiday, please inform the relevant supplier (e.g., your hotelier, transporter, etc.) and/or our representative immediately, who will endeavor to set things right. If your complaint is not resolved locally, please follow this up within 28 days of your return home by writing to us with your booking reference and all other relevant information. However, please be advised that while we are happy to assist you in the redressal of your complaint, if any, we will be able to extend only our best efforts in managing/coordinating your complaint with the respective service provider. All third-party service providers are independent contractors who are at no time under our control or supervision.

All booking vouchers and tickets will be provided 3 days before departure.
